My name is Jesenia Badia, a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Puerto Rico and a Certified Doula. I am a mother of three boys, aged 23, 15, and 6 months. At 39 years old, my journey through motherhood has been marked by both joy and challenges, including four miscarriages between pregnancies. My youngest child came as a surprise, and my fiancé and I faced uncertainty due to complications from previous pregnancies. As a result, we were unsure whether this baby would survive.

With this pregnancy, I wanted to savor every moment, particularly the birth process. After extensive research, I found a doula program that offered classes, which I attended to better understand how to manage my labor and delivery without the use of medication. These classes taught me valuable techniques, such as how to control my breathing during contractions, stay focused, and practice exercises to support a natural birth. I also learned how to be proactive in my birthing experience, such as communicating with family and friends, documenting the process, and following through on the birth plan I envisioned.

I am passionate about helping other women achieve the same level of confidence and control I experienced during this last pregnancy. My goal is to support women through pregnancy, encourage healthy habits, prepare them for a natural birth, and provide guidance on postpartum care, particularly during the first year of their baby's life.

Following my last pregnancy, I experienced postpartum depression (PPD). During this time, I felt isolated—without family support, as my fiancé was unable to be with us for the first six months. Although friends helped when they could, I was often left alone with my baby. Overcoming PPD was a difficult and deeply personal journey, and I am now committed to helping others avoid or cope with this condition. I understand how postpartum depression can affect a mother’s recovery, breastfeeding journey, and overall day-to-day well-being.
